More than a catalogue of 4,000 references
If your work involves analysing a technical need, proposing compatibility solutions, selecting the right materials and defining assembly or fitting methods, then you're carrying out tasks that belong to an engineering department. That's exactly what we do every day for our customers.
IBC totes, drums, jerricans, bottles: the container is only part of the picture. Transferring a liquid safely within your process means mastering the chemical compatibility of the fluid with materials and seals, the pressure and flow rate of the line, the threads and fittings, and the applicable regulations (ADR, food contact, ATEX). These are precisely the points our customers come to us for, project after project. And that's been the case since 1975: it's as much our trade as distribution itself.
Some transfers are trickier than they look: degassing, pressurisation, volatile or sensitive fluids. In these cases, we don't just think in terms of the container, but of the whole circuit, right through to the connection at the workstation (fittings, piping, degassing systems).
What our engineering department assesses
Chemical compatibility
Resistance of materials (PE, PP, stainless steel, EPDM, FKM…) to the fluid being transported, over time and not just at the moment of filling. We check for ageing, corrosion risk and permeation before validating a solution.
Threads & fittings
Identification of the threads, taps and fittings already present on your fleet of containers, followed by the selection or adaptation of a solution that guarantees a tight seal and proper connection to your installation.
Pressure & flow rate
Sizing of the line to match your process: operating pressure, pressure drop and flow rate required at the workstation, to avoid any under-sizing or overpressure in the circuit.
Regulatory compliance
ADR constraints for transporting dangerous goods, food-contact requirements, ATEX zones depending on the nature of the product being stored and transferred. We guide you towards equipment that's compliant with your use case.
Degassing
For volatile or fermentable fluids, we assess the vents, check valves and degassing valves needed to prevent gas build-up or container deformation during storage and transfer.
Custom development
When no standard reference fits the bill, we adapt or develop a specific accessory with our manufacturing partners, from prototype through to production validation.
A solution that spans from the container to the workstation
When the project calls for it, our assessment doesn't stop at the accessory fitted to the container: we size the entire transfer circuit through to the point of use.
Container
IBC tote, metal or plastic drum, bidon, jerrican: the starting point of the circuit, where we identify the thread and the material constraints.
Tap & valve
Extraction of the fluid and degassing management at the container outlet, with a tap suited to the product being transported.
Fitting
Connection between the container and the piping: chemical compatibility, tightness and type of connection (threaded, camlock, tri-clamp…).
Piping
Choice of hose or pipe based on the operating pressure, the target flow rate and the line length through to the point of use.
Workstation
Final connection to the process: tap, dispensing gun, or integration onto an existing production line.
Our method, in 4 steps
Needs analysis
Fluid, container, process, regulatory constraints: we scope the project together with you.
Feasibility study
Verification of chemical compatibility and technical parameters (pressure, flow rate, thread).
Technical solution
Selection from our 4,000 references, or adaptation/development of a specific accessory.
Validation & implementation
Sample, testing, then industrialisation and follow-up through to commissioning.
